Mona Sharf

Mona Sharf first caught my attention when her name was printed along side the words "PR" in an article on Fashion Week Daily last year. It was about her career move from her role as PR Manager at Louis Vuitton that she held for over three and a half years. That's a lot of Louis. Prior to that, she was PR Manager at Coach and earlier handled communications at Tod's.

I'll just give you a moment to divulge the awesomeness of all that...

As a girl graduating with a degree in PR and fashion in just over three weeks time (June 10th, but who's counting?) I've totally submerged myself in everything fashion/PR related be it assignments, blogs, articles, porftolio preparation or last night's pizza and wine-fueled resume building session with my friend. I figure it would be time appropriate to blog a serious of inspirational, stylish women in covetable PR positions with equally covetable wardrobes.

So without further adieu, I give you Mona Sharf: Director of Communications & Celebrity at Theory (my current label crush) and Helmut Lang, New York. She oversees all placement, editorial and celebrity dressing, likes striped sweaters, denim cut offs and owns the studded Miu Miu brogues I constantly froth over at work.

King Kling

I'm not usually one to follow the style of fashion's cult elite, but rather head to blogs like Jak&Jil where the focus is all on the smaller details. You can read more about that in my interview here. However, in true Fashion Falsehood style, I am going to oppose my own self-righteous oppinion and publically drool all over new 'it' girl Elin Kling of Style by Kling. Why make the exception for Kling? Because it's rare that you find a style icon who can make the basics seem so un-basic, and get it right time and time again. Oh! And she looks fantastic in mustard. The rest you can work out for yourselves...

Abbey-Lee reveals new hair at NYFW

Pictures of Abbey-lee Kershaw's new platinum hair colour surfaced just hours ago on @Modelinia and the frenzy has already begun with Tommy Ton's tweet fueling the fire to collectively over 135000 followers.

When quizzed by Modelinia on her new colour Abbey said she got her hair only a few days ago. "I did it like two days ago," she said. "It took seven hours and I didn’t speak for another four hours. I just made the decision that I needed a change. I’ve never dyed my hair before. Also I think that with the cut that I’ve got, it was the time to go white.”

A friend bbm'd (Blackberry messaged) me the twitpic taken at a Chanel party at NYFW, and the first thing I asked myself was "didn't frockwriter just do a post on the popularity of Abbey's Chanel bob aka the Kob?" Sure enough I click through to Patty's blog and she's already posted the photo.

It seems Abbey is just too fast for us, the moment we begin adding low-lights, hacking our locks off asking for the Kob, she's immediately got us regretting the decision and instead reaching for the industrial sized bottle of bleach.

Abbey Lee does the chop?

This picture of Abbey Lee depicts more than her natural nack for style; her lucious sun-bleached brunette locks seem to have been choped off.. But then again with the magic hands of hair stylists we can never be too sure.

Opting for a slicker, "dandy" look, Abbey appears more grown up and even a little more tailored (read: neat), but she still manages to rock her nose ring and rebellious antiestablishmentary attitude.

What do you think of her look?

English Mustard

Tonight I'm inwardly debating two issues. We all know how hot Chloe Sevigny is, there's no need for me to post a billion images of her being intimidatingly cool. But I've just seen her wearing mustard. What's so interesting about that? Well the fact that I've been obsessed with this colour ever since I can remember seeing it grace the mannequin of Supre when I was about 13. Also, the fact that since I can remember being obsessed by mustard, I've never been able to wear it because it washes me the hell out (as I'm blonde). Dissapointing, I know.

Now moving onto my second issue: I have blonde hair but have let the roots go. It looks natural - people that don't know me think it's natural and I like that. I like looking like I don't care. I like having the multi-tone blondes. It's intersting. It's beachy. But it's not summer here any more and I'm not feeling the vibe. I can't exactly go sunbake and squeeze lemon juice on my roots without freezing to death. That, and beachy blonde hair looks terribly scrappy when I'm trying to look chic and clean in my winter wardrobe, namely consisting of tailored coats and shiny heels. Chloe's blonde can't be natural, surley? Could I achieve this look AND pull off mustard at the same time?

The debate? Should I fork out and get my roots done (Pip Edwards would be so upset with me) and should I stop frothing over mustard blouses on the rack and actually take them into the change room with me?
